New Super Moon in Dhanishtha February 9th 2024

Today we have a New Super Moon in the Nakshatra of Dhanishtha in Jyotish or Vedic Studies. 

This is a star ruled by Mars. Today being a new moon and a Mars ruled placement makes it a particularly good time for a new venture. Saturns influence will give you energy to persevere and Venus being with the moon may bring a niceness or even a quick gain to the day. 

Spiritually its a good time to examine areas of your life where you may have felt left out or ignored and reassess. See if it’s time to let those feelings or beliefs go or to have a change of perspective around them so you can move forward without unnecessary baggage. The world may do this for you if you don’t do it yourself at this time. 

Dhanishtha represents the practice of taking what you have heard and turning it into action, much like the transition of Capricorn to Aquarius. Capricorn takes what we know historically and adopts it, and Aquarius changes it to make it more innovative. This makes Dhanishta one of the most favorable times to set plans into motion. 

Venus being present with the moon makes this a very sweet time, especially because it’s also happening on a Friday as Fridays are ruled by Venus. It’s a great time to make an investment or a change in your appearance. Buying or wearing new clothing, jewelry etc is a good deed today, especially if it’s gold. It’s a great time to get a haircut if it’s a ceremonial and something you’ve been contemplating for some time. 

It’s also a very powerful time for any kind of ceremony. It’s particularly auspicious to work with sound. So do your mantra work, drumming circles, sound baths, ecstatic dance, etc, today it is a holy act.
